site.btaSMEs Promotion Agency: Innovations Make Enterprises Competitive

Speaking at the Sofia Forum on the European Innovation Agenda on Monday, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), Boiko Takov, said that the implementation of innovations is how Bulgarian enterprises remain competitive. 

Takov said that implementing innovations constitutes a significant portion of the Bulgarian economy. In his words, "money for innovations is plenty" but a problem is in the regularity which which it reaches the business. 

As the entity managing the National Innovation Fund, BSMEPA seeks to streamline the Fund's rules all the time so as to make it better suited and useful for the business, Takov said. In his words, the biggest step in this direction will be the adoption of a future innovations bill. 

Takov reminded that the Bulgarian enterprises can also take advantage of financing under the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs/Eurostars funding instrument which supports innovative SMEs and project partners and where companies from different countries implement trans-border projects.
