A National Strategy for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises 2021-2027 has been planned, with strategic goals including competitiveness, SME specialization and high-tech production. The six priority impact areas are entrepreneurship, access to markets and financing, digitization and skills, better regulation and business environment, and environment.

The measures mapped out in the strategy aim to help SMEs with easier access to various sources of financing and participation in public procurement. The strategy gives special attention to the priority areas environment and digitization and skills, Danchev said.
