site.btaBulgaria Welcomed 1.322 Mln Holliday-goers in July
A total of 1.322 million people holidayed in Bulgaria in July, an improvement on the results from the good pre-pandemic year for tourism, 2019, when 1.297 million people visited the country in the same month, according to a chart published on the website of the Ministry of Tourism. The chart, featuring the number of registrations of Bulgarian and foreign tourists in the country, also shows that over 678,000 foreign tourists chose Bulgaria to spend their holidays in July, as well as over 643,000 Bulgarians.
A year previously, foreign holiday-goers in Bulgaria in July exceeded 483,000, and Bulgarians were more than 634,000, while in July 2019 foreign tourists prevailed and numbered more than 812,000, compared to over 485,000 Bulgarians who holidayed here.
The Ministry of Tourism is beginning to publish interactive information charts presenting data about the development of tourism in Bulgaria. The charts are based on data collected from the Standard Tourist Information System (STIS) and the National Statistical Institute.
Four charts have been published to date, thematically oriented towards summer season 2022. The publication of the data in digital format is one of the final stages in the process of statistical data digitalization.
