site.btaStranded Ship to Be Reauctioned after No Bidders Come Up for First Sale
The motor ship VERA SU, which was stranded at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast about a year ago, will be offered at a second auction within "the shortest possible time," Captain Valentin Enchev, Director of Bulgaria's Maritime Administration Executive Agency, told BTA on Wednesday.
The first auction took place on September 28, but no bidders came up. The starting bid was set at USD 460,000 before VAT.
In Enchev's words, the new starting bid will be lower, and the regulatory framework makes it possible to reduce it by up to 20%.
The VERA SU will remain moored at the TEREM-SHIPYARD Flotski Arsenal, where it can be viewed.
