German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBCIC) President Tim Kurth received an honorary diploma from the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday in recognition of his overall contribution to the development of bilateral relations in tourism and his assistance in advertising Bulgaria as a travel destination, GBCIC said in its bulletin, Bulgarien Aktuell, made available to BTA on Wednesday.
GBCIC Chief Executive Mitko Vassilev received the Tourism Ministry's highest honour, the Golden Rose, for his significant contribution to the development of two-way tourism.
The accolades were presented by caretaker Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov, who joined the 21st Ball of the German Economy in Bulgaria.
Dimitrov underscored the Tourism Ministry's fruitful cooperation with GBCIC over the years. He described as a historic success the fact that in September 2019 Bulgaria was added to the list of countries where out-patient healthcare services are recognized by Germany's National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds.
GBCIC held its annual Ball of the German Economy in Bulgaria at Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia on October 1 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event proceeded under the auspices of German Charge d'Affaires in Sofia Irene Plank.
