At 27 job fairs organized by Bulgaria's National Employment Agency in September, 256 employers presented 1,654 vacancies, the Agency said in a press release on Friday. Some 1,876 job seekers, including Ukrainian citizens, attended these job fairs.

The National Employment Agency held the job fairs in in Tervel, Dulovo, Nova Zagora, Parvomay, Cherven Bryag, Veliki Preslav, Svishtov, Sandanski, Zlatograd, Byala Slatina, Blagoevgrad, Targovishte, Valchi Dol, Haskovo, Pirdop, Stara Zagora, Vratsa, Pernik, Troyan , Dimitrovgrad, Lovech, Stamboliyski, Ihtiman, Sofia, Montana, Vidin and Kardzhali.

The labour office in Troyan organized a specialized youth job fair, and the office in Dulovo arranged a job fair for educators. In September, a specialized labour fair in agriculture was held in Valchi Dol. Two specialized job fairs for long-term unemployed persons and persons aged over 50 were organized in September by the labour offices in Targovishte and Ihtiman.

There were 21 general job fairs in September, which were held in the municipalities of Tervel, Nova Zagora, Parvomay, Cherven Bryag, Veliki Preslav, Svishtov, Sandanski, Zlatograd, Byala Slatina, Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Pirdop, Stara Zagora, Vratsa, Pernik, Dimitrovgrad, Lovech, Plovdiv, Sofia, Montana, Vidin and Kardzhali. A total of 1,569 vacancies were announced for people with qualifications cutting across the spectrum: teachers, economists, engineers, technologists, credit consultants, hotel administrators, suppliers, shop supervisors, laboratory workers, as well as positions in production, services and agriculture.

The National Employment Agency is planning to hold 22 job fairs countrywide in October 2022.

One in eight Bulgarians will be supported by the Human Resources Development Programme (2021-2027) over the next seven years, Deputy Labour and Social Policy Minister Natalia Efremova told BTA in early September. During the new programing period, the programme prioritizes preparation of the workforce for the future of labour, and the funds allocated for youth employment have been trebled to BGN 735 million, to cover 110,000 young people, Efremova pointed out, specifying that youth unemployment has been outlined as a priority in its own right for the first time.
