The Regional Centre for Distance Learning in Yambol, Southeastern Bulgaria, of the University for National and World Economy (UNWE) hosted an information day of a project called Co-Working under which students enrolled in the Centre will be able to join an international research and training exchange and attend training camps in Greece, UNWE said.
Co-Working is a programme that aims to accelerate start-up enterprises and encourage students to seek financing for their own projects. A key aspect of the programme is cooperation with Greek students for the implementation of joint ideas which will be developed during training camps organized by the the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, UNWE, the Alexandria Innovation Zone in Thessaloniki, and the Bulgarian Industrial Zones national company.
Another aim of the project is to promote the creation of innovative business eco-systems in the cross-border area between Bulgaria and Greece which will in turn boost the creation of enterprises. The cross-border area is often characterized as having difficulties in accessing financing, limited access to know-how, lacking services to underpin the development of competitive projects and services, underdeveloped human resources and skills, which the project seeks to reverse.
