Energy Minister Rossen Hristov is leaving for Prague to join a roundtable discussion on the future of gaseous fuels on the EU energy market, the Energy Ministry said in a press release Monday. During the discussion, representatives of the EU member states, the European Commission and the European Parliament will look at the subject in the context of the current geopolitical situation and the European Commission's REPowerEU plan to make Europe independent from Russian fossil fuels before 2030.

While in Prague, Hristov will take part in an informal EU Energy Council meeting organized by the Czech Presidency of the EU Council. The meeting will consider a roadmap for securing natural gas at prices affordable to EU consumers and ways to reform the bloc's electricity market.
