Beer producer Kamenitza reduced the amount of primary and secondary plastic packaging placed on the market by nearly 70 tonnes, from 2020 to 2021, according to the company's sustainability report outlining its strategy titled "Our Footprint".

Since early 2022, Kamenitza's plant in Haskovo has been purchasing only green energy. The company is also committed to supporting domestic production, using 95% Bulgarian malt to produce beer. Some 95% of the transport companies it works with are Bulgarian, and over 80% of the packaging materials for its products are produced in the country, according to the report.

Kamenitza registers 17% less water input in the production of 100 litres of beer, 12.5% less electricity input and 65% less carbon dioxide purchased in 2021 compared to 2016.

Kamenitza AD, a part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company, operates a brewery in Haskovo, South Bulgaria, and a microbrewery for handcrafted beers in Plovdiv, South-central Bulgaria.
