Customs officers seized a total of 986 litres of fuel, 62 litres of alcohol and 280 pieces of cigarettes without an excise revenue stamp from a private storage facility in the Municipality of Ruse, the Customs Agency reported.
Documents for paid excise duty were not presented for any of the products. Samples of the fuel and the alcohol have been taken for lab tests.
During another inspection in the Municipality of Vetovo (Ruse Region), custom officers seized 26 tanks full of gas oil (some 300 litres) in a shop and in a warehouse next to it. The fuel was impounded, as no documents for paid excise duty were presented by the owner.
The Customs Agency recalls that storing products subject to excise duty without the appropriate documentation, is a violation of the law.
