The Embassy of Pakistan on Wednesday inaugurated in Sofia a special centre for presentation of Pakistani products. "This is a small step towards our common goal of improving and strengthening the ties between Bulgaria and Pakistan, said HE Ms. Mariam Madiha Aftab, Ambassador of Pakistan to Bulgaria, during the official ceremony.
According to her, some of the most popular products that Pakistan exports: textiles, surgical instruments, rice, and souvenirs, have been collected and displayed at the centre. "This is a small window of what Pakistan has to offer to local businessmen," Aftab said.
According to her, trade ties between Pakistan and Bulgaria have been growing slowly in recent years, but there is a long way to go.
"I am delighted that our intentions to familiarize Bulgarian consumers with the opportunities of the Pakistani economy are beginning to take off," said Tsvetan Simeonov, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), which is a partner in this initiative.
He added that surely a big country like Pakistan can hardly showcase all its products in such a small space, but the important thing is that a start is made with the most prestigious products - those that are well received by other countries and for which the country is known.
"We will do our best to get the information to as many companies as possible. Now I am even more confident than at the beginning of our cooperation that there will be an effect from our efforts," Simeonov concluded.
