site.btaBulgaria Participates in Informal Meeting of EU Employment and Social Affairs Ministers
Deputy Labour and Social Policy Minister Natalia Efremova represented Bulgaria at an informal meeting of the EU labour and social affairs ministers in Prague on October 12-13, said her Ministry Friday. Support for refugees from Ukraine and the measures the EU member states are taking to tackle the impact of rising energy prices on the population and fight energy poverty, topped the agenda of the meeting.
Ministers presented successful policies and programmes aimed at enhancing the labour market integration of Ukrainian people fleeing the war. Deputy Minister Efremova said that Bulgaria's efforts are aimed at providing appropriate assistance for labour market integration of Ukrainian citizens, tailored to their skills and needs. The aim is to make sure they have resources, through employment, to take care of their housing, while providing additional psychological, financial and material support for them, she explained.
Bulgaria was mentioned as an example of good practices in this area by other participants in the discussion, said the Labour Ministry.
