At the end of September 2022, deposits of the non-government sector were BGN 111.699 billion (72.3% of GDP), increasing annually by 11.3%, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said on Tuesday.
Deposits of non-financial corporations were BGN 38.902 billion (25.2% of GDP) at the end of September 2022, a 23.1% rise year-on-year.
The deposits of financial corporations decreased by 15% annually and stood at BGN 3.583 billion (2.3% of GDP) at the end of the month.
Household deposits amounted to BGN 69.213 billion (44.8% of GDP), a 7.3% increase year-on-year.
At the end of September 2022, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to BGN 78.592 billion (50.9% of GDP) compared to BGN 77.847 billion (50.4% of GDP) at the end of August 2022. They increased annually by 13.6% in September 2022.
loans to non-financial corporations increased by 11.4% annually (12.1% annual growth in August 2022) and at the end of the month amounted to BGN 40.384 billion (26.1% of GDP).
Loans to households were BGN 32.380 billion (21% of GDP) at the end of September 2022. They increased by 15.3% compared to the same month of 2021. Loans for house purchases were BGN 15.795 billion and increased by 18% annually. Consumer loans amounted to BGN 14.927 billion and compared to September 2021 they rose by 13.9%.
In September 2022, loans to sole proprietorships and partnerships without legal status increased annually by 8.6%, reaching BGN 432.9 million.
