The first retail park in the city of Pernik, near Sofia, was unveiled officially Thursday, Pernik Municipality said. The park covers an area of nearly 4.0 ha and is one of the largest state-of-the-art projects in the region.

The park has a commercial built-in area exceeding 15,000 sq m, distributed among 17 individual outlets. The project offers a parking lot for nearly 400 vehicles. The new retail park has come with 300 job openings.

It is gratifying that the retail park concept, which is being implemented for the first time in the city, has attracted reputable and international brands. “Our ambition as investors is to create more and better shopping and entertainment opportunities, to contribute to the development of the business environment in the city and the region," said Roman Romanov of Regents Property Advisers, the company commissioned with the management of the project.

On the territory of the park there are shops for household electrical appliances, office equipment, a supermarket for groceries and construction, a chemist’s, outlets for men's, women's and children's fashion, and others. A popular fast-food chain restaurant, a cafe and a bank branch are to be opened soon.

According to Pernik Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov, the city has been attracting increasing investment interest in various spheres. It is also attracting more people who choose to settle in it.
