Bulgaria's general business climate index in October 2022 dropped by 1.7 points compared with September 2022, the National Statistical Institute reported on Friday. The business climate worsened in industry, retail trade and services, and improved slightly in construction.

The index component describing the business climate in retail trade dropped by 5.2 points as a result of retailers' lower assessments and expectations concerning the condition of their enterprises.

The index component describing the business climate in industry went down by 1.3 points due to the cautious assessments of industrial entrepreneurs about the current condition of their companies.

The index component describing the business climate in construction increased by 1.4 points, with construction entrepreneurs describing the business activity in their sector as favourable. 

The index component describing the business climate in services decreased by 2.3 points due to company owners' worsened expectations about the current condition of their enterprises.
