Deputy Tourism Minister Irena Georgieva took part in a series of bilateral meetings with Poland's tourism industry between October 24 and 27, the Tourism Ministry said. Bulgarian tourism representatives led by Georgieva held bilateral business meetings in Wroclaw, Katowice, Krakow and Warsaw.

The meetings were intended to take business relations in tourism to the next level and to strengthen and develop contacts between Bulgarian and Polish businesses. In the four locations, Bulgarian tour operators and hoteliers met with nearly 100 Polish tour operators. The Bulgarian businesses' offers, with a focus on seaside holidays, met with interest. For their part, the Polish businesses expressed a hope that Bulgaria would be represented increasingly as a year-round tourist destination, with particular interest being shown in mountain tourism, mountain biking tours and SPA tourism, in addition to winter holidays in the ski resorts.

At about 8.8%, Bulgaria has the third largest share in the Polish tourist market after Turkey and Greece. About 270,000 Polish tourists visited Bulgaria in the first eight months of 2022, up by 53% from a year earlier.

All participants in the meetings concurred that Bulgaria could cater to twice that number of Polish tourists in 2023.
