site.btaTargovishte Prosecutes Crime Group for Global Brand Fakes

The District Prosecutor's Office in Targovishte is conducting pre-trial proceedings under an article of the Criminal Code against an organized group for the illegal use of trademarks without the consent of the exclusive rights holders, the Prosecutor's Office in Varna said in a release Friday.

On the territory of Targovishte, Razgrad and Harmanli, employees of the General Directorate "Fight against Organized Crime" with the Ministry of Interior carried out searches at various addresses. Goods bearing the distinctive signs of various world brands and equipment for the production of clothing with the prints of such brands were seized.

The investigation is being conducted under the guidance and supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Targovishte. The work on proving and documenting the committed crimes continues, numerous expert examinations have been appointed, and the involvement of the persons identified during the pre-trial proceedings and their role in the criminal scheme is being clarified, the release says.
