site.btaFDI Net Inflow in Bulgaria at Nearly EUR 404 Mln in September

Net direct investment in Bulgaria in September 2022 was -EUR 377.4 million, compared with -EUR 206.5 million a year earlier, the Bulgarian National Bank said on Friday.

Net direct investment in January-September 2022 was nearly -EUR 1.2 billion (1.5% of the projected GDP), compared with -EUR 1.166 billion (1.6% of GDP) a year earlier.

Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria presented according to the directional principle recorded a net inflow of EUR 403.7 million in September 2022, compared with an inflow of EUR 230 million in September 2021.

The net flows of foreign direct investment in Bulgaria increased by EUR 1,468.7 million in January-September 2022, compared with an increase of EUR 1,324.1 million a year earlier. 

Direct investment abroad increased by EUR 26.3 million in September 2022, compared with an increase of EUR 23.4 million in September 2021.

According to preliminary data, direct investment abroad totalled EUR 296.3 million in January-September 2022, compared with EUR 157.7 million in January-September 2021.
