Nearly 8,900 people have been included in Bulgaria's labour market by Roma mediators of the Employment Agency in the first 10 months of 2022, exceeding the number of included Roma people (8,723) for the whole of 2021, the Agency said here on Tuesday.
As a result of the efforts of Roma mediators, the number of people registered in labour offices and the number of people receiving support to use job placement services and professional qualification has increased in less than a year.
Employment Agency Executive Director Smilen Valov emphasized that the work of Roma mediators sets an example of equality, contributes to faster and more complete integration of members of minority groups and plays an important social inclusion role.
Valov opened a meeting for exchange of good practices between Roma mediators.
Labour and Social Policy Deputy Minister Emil Mingov, who attended the meeting, reiterated the state's full support for developing social mediation among Roma people under the National Employment Action Plan.
