site.btaTurnover in Air Transport Up by 155% in Q3 of 2022, Y/Y

The third quarter of 2022 saw an increase by 42.5% in the total turnover index in the Transportation, Storage and Post section compared to the like period of 2021. The data are preliminary and calendar adjusted and were published by the National Statistical Institute on Thursday. A significant rise was registered in air and in water transport, by 155.6% and 82.8%, respectively.

Compared to the second quarter of 2021, the total turnover index in Transportation, Storage and Post went up by 7.5% in July-September 2022. An increase was reported in most activities, with air transport and water transport seeing the greatest rise, by 37.4% and 15.9%, respectively. A drop was registered in warehousing and transport activities for transportation, by 1.8%. 

The total turnover index in the Information and Communication section increased by 1.7% compared to the second quarter of 2022. The largest increase – by 5.4% - was observed in computer programming, consultancy and related activities as well as in information service activities. A decline was seen in publishing activities, by 10.5%, and in telecommunications, by 6.1%.

In the Other Business Services section, the highest quarter-on-quarter increase was registered in architectural and engineering activities, technical testing and analysis, by 5.1%, and in security and investigation activities, by 4.5%. A decrease was reported in other professional, scientific and technical activities, by 13.7%, and in legal, accounting and management consultancy activities, by 5.7%.

Compared to the third quarter of 2021, the total calendar adjusted turnover index in the Information and Communication section rose by 14% in July-September 2022. The most significant growth was seen in motion picture, video and TV programme production, music publishing activities (25.9%), in computer programming, consultancy and related activities (24.2%), and in information service activities (18.5%). The biggest decrease was observed in publishing activities, by 11.4%.

In the Other Business Services section, the highest year-on-year rise was observed in travel agency, tour operator and other reservation service and related activities, by 78%, and in employment activities, by 26.7%. A decline was registered only in legal, accounting and management consultancy activities, by 9.8%.
