site.btaPresident Radev to Framatome: Bulgaria Seeks Sustainable Energy Solutions that Guarantee Independence and Security
Meeting with managers of France's Framatome nuclear energy company on Friday, President Rumen Radev said Bulgaria is working towards long-term sustainable energy solutions to guarantee its independence and security and its resilience in dealing with new energy crises. Energy diversification is a key priority, Radev said, noting Bulgaria's ambition to expand its cooperation with reputed nuclear energy businesses.
The President also stressed that partnerships in this field would be built on transparent relations, on the principles of safety and reliability, on a competitive basis and in full compliance with the EU rules and the requirements of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
Framatome Managing Board Chairman and CEO Bernard Fontana expressed the company's readiness to expand its partnership with Bulgaria in the field of nuclear energy for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
Energy Minister Rossen Hristov attended the meeting.
