Currently the price of natural gas for December remains BGN 145.87/MWh exclusive of access, transmission, excise and VAT charges, said Monday Vesselin Sinabov of public supplier Bulgargaz at an open meeting of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC). The meeting discussed a report by Bulgargaz about the price in December at which it will sell natural gas to end suppliers. “We don’t expect considerable changes by December 1, when the final price proposal will be submitted,” he added.

For November, the regulator approved a price of BGN123.01/MWh (exclusive of access, transmission, excise and VAT charges). If the regulator approves the price proposal for December, the price of natural gas will go up by 18.58%.

EWRC Chair Ivan Ivanov noted that there is a slight depreciation on European exchanges, which he expects to confirm on December 1. Ivanov said that natural gas could have been cheaper but for the expensive gas stored in Chiren as the storage facility was filled in August and September, when the price of gas was highest.
