Plovdiv Airport starts its winter programme with new charter flights, the first being from Turkiye, the airport Board of Directors announced Wednesday.
The flights will be from Antalya and Izmir to Plovdiv and will be operated by SunExpress. There will be eight flights in total, from now until the beginning of February, said the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Doichin Angelov.
The second charter programme is from Belfast, which will start on 20 December. There will be a total of 17 flights until March 26, all of them operated by Jet2.
The new charters will bring tourists to the nearby winter resorts, Angelov told BTA. He sees that as a good sign for the local tourist industry.
There are 14 scheduled flights to and from Plovdiv Airport every week and the destinations are London's airports Luton and Stansted, Dortmund and Memmingen in Germany, and Dublin.
