At a ceremony in Sofia Thursday, KBC Global Services received a Class A certificate for investment for the opening of KBC's first-ever digital technology centre - KBC Global Services N.V. Branch Bulgaria - in Varna, said the PR agency Paragraph 42.

The main purpose of the digital technology centre is to implement innovative solutions supporting the digital transformation of KBC Group's banking and insurance companies.

The project is of strategic importance for the development of Varna and the wider region. The new facility will create over 300 new jobs.

The certificate was presented by the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Stefan Savov and Bogdan Bogdanov, Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency.

"The opening of the digital technology centre in Varna was a strategic investment for KBC Global Services," said general manager Todor Petkov. "The people at the Centre have the opportunity to work in the Group's global network, to develop their skills and talent. We see great technological potential in Varna and the country as a whole, which will be a driving force and will contribute not only to the growth of the region, but of the entire economy. That is why, as a logical consequence of the successful investment in Varna, we have created a new technology hub in Sofia, with which we continue to develop in the right direction, providing more and more opportunities for local talent to stay and work in Bulgaria."
