Bulgaria's Transpress unveiled a new logistics centre in the Sofia-Bojurishte Industrial Park on Friday. The investment is worth over BGN 16 million, said CEO and founder Vesselin Stoyanov.
The new logistics centre takes over 4 hectares and has the largest cross-docking platform for pallet shipments. The centre has 60 ramps for loading and unloading of 60 trucks, warehouses, a shipment sorting area and offices. The capacity is up to 12,000 tonnes, or 15,000 pallets of processed shipments in 24 hours and over 4 million pallets in a year. The parking area can take up to 100 trucks and 300 cars. The centre will create 100 jobs, said Stoyanov.
A photovoltaic system and charging stations for electric vehicles will be built, added Stoyanov.
BGN 611 million invested in Bojurishte industrial zone in a decade
In the past decade Bulgarian and foreign companies have invested a total of BGN 611 million in the Sofia-Bojurishte Industrial Zone, said caretaker Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov. In 2022 in addition to Transpress, another 11 companies invested some BGN 100 million in the zone. "These numbers show that the development of industrial parks in Bulgaria is in the right direction to attract investments and this bears good results," said Minister Stoyanov.
Under the National Recovery and Resilience BGN 200 million have been set aside for industrial parks, recalled Stoyanov. The Ministry's team believes that this amount may be increased by tapping operational programmes and the Bulgarian Development Bank.
