The German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DBIHK ) and its partners for the Annual Theme 2022: Sustainable Economic Growth, have signed a memorandum declaring that they are ready to help the Bulgarian government, the state bodies, cities and municipalities on their path to sustainable development, to participate actively in joint projects and apply their expertise. "In this way we can create together a motivating environment for further development of businesses, the public sector, local government and the general public," the companies stated, as quoted by the latest issue of Bulgarien Aktuell, which was received by BTA.
The memorandum calls on the Bulgarian government and institutions to support sustainable business development through a transparent and ethical business environment by setting a clear framework and incentives for business development, and to promote the use of renewable energy sources by removing lengthy red tape and various requirements unrelated to legislative amendments.
The companies call on the state to promote mobility through the regulating function of supply chain transformation and to encourage businesses to reduce energy intensity. It is also proposed to review the definition of large companies and of small and medium enterprises so as to optimize the number of employees and the turnover value. The companies expect the role of innovation in sustainable economic growth to be clarified, as well as the role of large companies in the Recovery and Resilience Plan in areas where they are not included.
