site.btaHill City Global CEO: Bulgaria Is Known for Robust Business Process Outsourcing
Over the last several years, Bulgaria has become known for its robust business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, Ryan Fischer, Bank of America's former Vice President at the headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and current CEO of the boutique project management consulting company Hill City Global, told BTA. Fischer is in the United States to take part in two international forums dedicated to meetings between Bulgarian and American businesses organized by InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) under project Establishing Bulgaria as a Successful Investment Destination within the Operational Programme Innovations and Competitiveness 2014-2020.
The Bulgarian delegation led by IBA Executive Director Bogdan Bogdanov includes representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Startup Association, Sofia Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov, Plovdiv Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov, and BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.
Fischer pointed out that the meetings of Bulgarian representatives with businesses in the US were going well, as the initiative gave Americans the rare chance to learn about the "amazing innovative business ecosystem that exists in Bulgaria". According to the expert, many people in America have not heard of Bulgaria and are unaware of the country's geographic location. "My first response is to explain to them it's a strategic location for any business in any industry," he said.
Fischer described Bulgaria as unique because of its low-cost operating environment and an excellent innovation ecosystem - factors that make the country a "great place for companies to develop innovative products".
The first forum took place on Tuesday in Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, California. It focused on the Outsourcing and IT industries. The second forum, in Portland, Oregon, will be dedicated to the Electronics and IT industries.
Ryan Fischer has helped some of the world's largest organizations execute their strategic vision through technology and business transformation efforts in both management consulting and internal roles. Such companies include Lowe's Companies, Duke Energy, ExxonMobil, Family Dollar, Costco, and Bank of America Merchant Services. Prior to founding Hill City Global, he led the Enterprise Client Experience team's implementation of Medallia across Bank of America Merchant Services. He earned an MBA from Wake Forest University and holds several professional certifications.
While working on several large transformational programmes for Fortune 100 clients in the US, Fischer recognized a need in the market for a value-driven company that provided affordable project resources and consultation that would not require companies to sacrifice quality. He then relocated to Sofia and launched the boutique project management consulting company, Hill City Global.
