Over 27,000 companies operate in the tourist sector, Economy and Industry Minister Nikola Stoyanov said at Tuesday’s ceremony on conferring the Ministry of Tourism’s Annual Awards.

After a series of difficult lessons learnt, the sector had to pass through a series of crises, but is reviving now and has reached pre-pandemic levels, Stoyanov said. "One of the most important things we have become convinced of is that investments in innovation and digitalization can pay off the fastest and are the ones that make us competitive," he stressed.

Stoyanov presented the award in the Innovations category to Travel Line Bulgaria for its Bulgaria RoomMix Innovation 2022, designed to bring a new level of technological capability to higher efficiency accommodations..

The Annual Tourism Awards ceremony was held for the seventh consecutive year. It was attended by President Rumen Radev, MPs, ministers, ambassadors, mayors, representatives of the academic community, business, tourism organizations and the media.
