Bulgarian Deputy e-Government Minister Blagovest Kirilov has signed the Declaration on a Trusted, Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Future of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Kirilov's Ministry reported Thursday. He described the signing of this document as an important moment on Bulgaria's path to full membership in the OECD.

The Declaration was adopted within the concluding session of the OECD Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting in Gran Canaria, Spain.

In Kirilov's words, the Declaration places particular importance on digitalization as a process with deep and transforming reflections on societies and economies.

The parties to the Declaration commit to work together with all interested parties on promoting a safe, secure, inclusive and sustainable digital environment supported by an open and free internet. The OECD will play the leading role as a place for sharing knowledge and experience in the field of digital policies and practices, and establishing international cooperation that puts people at the centre.
