site.btaAdditional BGN 10 Mln Provided for Preparation of Euro Changeover in Bulgaria

The Government has approved additional expenditure in the Finance Ministry budget for 2022. The funds, which amount to BGN 10,000,000, are provided for the financial support of the process of technical preparation for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria, and the communication activities related to this process.

This is in the context of the implementation of the decision of the National Assembly adopted on October 27, 2022, which obliges the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the Bulgarian National Bank, to accelerate the consultations and negotiations with the European institutions for the adoption of the euro on January 1, 2024. 

Funds are provided from the restructuring of central budget expenditure and/or transfers for 2022.
