Caretaker Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov shared that he expects a good ski season and hopes for plenty of snow, at the opening of the winter tourist season in Pamporovo on Friday. At the beginning of the season, the ski resort registered about 30% more bookings compared to 2019, said Marian Belyakov, CEO of Pamporovo AD.
Smolyan Regional Governor Stefan Sabrutev shared Dimitrov's expectation of a strong season, pointing out that Pamporovo AD successfully tackled the challenge of lack of snow.
Pamporovo welcomed the first skiers of the season with five open ski slopes and sunny weather. The Tourism Minister congratulated Pamporovo AD for the tremendous work done to open the season in the run-up to the holidays. "We delivered on everything that we had promised the tourism industry: 9% VAT for everyone (in the sector), as well as a cap on the price of electricity," Dimitrov added.
Lift passes in Pamporovo will sell at last year's prices: an adult day pass will cost BGN 75 until December 28, and BGN 85 afterwards.
