site.btaMinimum Wage to Become BGN 780 from January 1, 2023.

The minimum wage will become BGN 780 from January 1, 2023, the government decided on Thursday. It  will increase by 9.9% compared to its current value. When determining the new amount , the real parameters of the macroeconomic environment and the possibilities of the state budget were taken into account, said the press centre of the government.

The proposed new minimum wage will contribute to reducing working poverty and income inequality. The growth of the minimum wage will increase the purchasing power and consumption of the lowest income groups of the labour market, increase the motivation of the workforce and reduce unfair competition.

From January 1, 2023, the minimum hourly wage will be BGN 4.72.
