The government approved additional expenses under the budget of the Ministry of Finance for 2022. The funds, amounting to BGN 172,000,000, are provided for the financing of fiscal anti-inflationary measures, said the press centre of the Council of Ministers on Thursday.
In 2022, the country's annual HICP [Harmonized Indices of Consumer Price] inflation followed an accelerating trend, peaking at 15.6% in September. In line with expectations over the next two months, the index slowed down to 14.3% year-on-year in November. A leading factor in the formation of inflation in the country was the significant increase in the price of raw materials on the international markets, and especially energy carriers, and their direct and indirect effects.
Therefore, under the budget of the Ministry of Finance for 2022, in the budget programme "Administration of state revenues", an administered expenditure paragraph "Financing of fiscal anti-inflationary measures" was created in the amount of BGN 172,000.
The funds were provided by restructuring of expenses and/or transfers under the central budget for 2022.
