site.btaNo Gas Pumped out of Chiren Facility in Last Week of 2022, Currently 82% Full

Natural gas from the Bulgarian Chiren gas storage facility was not used in the last week of December 2022, according to data from the Aggregated Gas Storage Inventory (AGSI). Small quantities of natgas were withdrawn from the facility over every one of the other weeks, the platform shows.

Chiren capacity is currently 82.19% full. BTA records show that in November it was 90.41% full.

EU underground storage facilities were 83.41% an average full as at January 4, compared to the average 94.95% on November 1, 2022.

Portugal and Poland currently have the highest fill rates in the EU - at 98.29% and 96.90% respectively. Hungary and Latvia have the least gas in storage - 69.56% and 47.19% accordingly, AGSI data show.
