WITTE Automotive Bulgaria will double its production capacities in Ruse, on the Danube, said the company manager Hristo Hristov.
Hristov and Ruse Mayor Pencho Milkov signed on Thursday an agreement for the purchase of a 0.2 ha of land which is municipal property. A new production facility will built there. Construction will begin mid-year and will be completed in 12 months.
"For use WITTE means not only work for hundreds of employees but also prestige. The company is a proof of the city’s business potential,” said Milkov.
Hristov said that this will be the second expansion since 2019. It has been prompted by the high productivity and the considerable growth in turnover, which reached EUR 183 million in 2022. The company supplies Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, BMW and Volvo.
The company employs 1,100. Hristov said that another 300 workers will be hired after the expansion. He said that now workers receive wages which are higher than the country’s average.
The management wants to increase turnover to EUR 400 million and employees to 1,500-1,600. Hristov also said that there is a shortage of workers and the company prefers workers who want to settle in Ruse.
