The state-owned Bulgargaz company will ask the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission to approve a lower price of natural gas for February compared with January, the company's CEO Deniza Slateva told Nova TV on Saturday.

At BGN 179.72/MWh, the natural gas price effective in January is 22.7% higher than in December 2022. It is expected to go down to its December level in February, Slateva said. "Analysis to date shows that the price will fall, but Bulgargaz is to submit its proposal to the regulator mid-January. The decrease is expected to exceed the January price rise," she said.
