Bulgarian Culture Minister Velislav Minekov will take part in the Davos Baukultur Alliance 2023, a Ministers of Culture Conference, which will take place between January 14-16 this year in Davos, Switzerland. The purpose of the international forum is to discuss and adopt a memorandum and to launch the Baukultur Alliance. The conference is part of the Davos World Economic Forum. 

The prestigious forum will be opened by the President of Switzerland, Alain Berse. He will lead an open discussion between the heads of delegations from all sectors, which will focus on the final drafts of the Memorandum and the Constituent Act of the Baukultur Alliance.

The second day of the conference, January 16, 2023, will be dedicated to official statements by the heads of delegations, including the Bulgarian Minister of Culture, adopting the documents and the launch of the Baukultur Alliance. On the initiative of the Baltic states, a joint statement on the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine is being prepared, which Bulgaria will join.

The conference will be attended by delegations from ministries, non-governmental organizations, international organizations in the field of culture and cultural heritage and representatives of businesses, because the initiative also aims to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, the organizers said.

On Monday, Minister Minekov will attend the opening of the World Economic Forum. At the start of the event, Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum in Davos will present the forum's views on the importance of the Baukultur Alliance and the Conference of Ministers of Culture.

This year, the World Economic Forum in Davos will be attended by a record number (52) of leaders of governments and countries. The Forum convenes its 53rd annual meeting to reaffirm the importance of dialogue and public-private collaboration to address the current cascading crises and to drive tangible change over the long term.
