site.btaInflation in Dec. at 14.3% in Bulgaria, Down to 10.4% in EU and 9.2% in Euro Zone

Inflation in Bulgaria in December 2022 was 14.3% year-on-year, Eurostat said Wednesday. Annual inflation in Bulgaria thus remained unchanged in the last month of 2022, while it was on a downward slope in October and November.

According to the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, which uses different weight for the inflation components, inflation in December was 16.9% remaining unchanged from the previous month.

Inflation in the EU dropped to 10.4% in December 2022, from 11.1% in November. It slowed down to 9.2% in the euro zone from 10.1% in November.

The slowest pace of increase of consumer prices in the EU in December are reported in Spain (5.5%), Luxembourg (6.2%) and France (6.7%). The highest were in Hungary (25%), Latvia (20.7%) and Lithuania (20%).
