site.btaStrong Winds Affect Flights at Sofia Airport for Second Day 

The strong winds have affected flights to and from Sofia Airport for a second day, the Airport said on Facebook Thursday afternoon. 

A flight from London’s Heathrow Airport has been diverted to Bucharest. The carrier said that the airplane will return to Sofia and then continue back to Heathrow later in the afternoon, the Sofia Airport said. 
The flight from and to Istanbul has been cancelled. 

The Airport reminds passengers that they can contact the airline for instructions how to proceed if their flight is redirected, delayed or cancelled.

The strong winds on Wednesday caused four passenger flights to be redirected to Plovdiv (southern Bulgaria), six to Bucharest and one to Thessaloniki.
