Sofia Appellate Court Reduces Amount of Compensation Ataka Leader Siderov Was Ordered to Pay to PM Borissov in Slander Case
Sofia, July 20 (BTA) - The Sofia Appellate Court has reduced the
amount of compensations Ataka party leader Volen Siderov was
ordered to pay to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in a slander
case, sources from the court said.
Borissov took Siderov to court over public statements and an
interview in a central daily in 2013 where he said that
"Borissov favoured and directly benefited from a ring for
prostitutes, drugs and illegal trade". The compensations Siderov
was ordered to pay has been reduced to 50,000 leva from 180,000
leva, and to 20,000 leva from 25,000 leva.
The decision of the Appellate Court is appealable before the
Supreme Court of Cassation.
