Bulgaria's Total Export Down by 1.4% In January-October Y/Y

Sofia, December 10 (BTA) - From January to October 2014,
Bulgaria exported goods worth 35.9 billion leva, which is a
decrease by 1.4 per cent compared to the like period of 2013,
show preliminary data released by the National Statistical
Institute on Wednesday.
   
In October 2014, the total export amounted to 4 billion leva, up
 by 1.9 per cent from October last year, and the total import
reached 4.7 billion leva, up by 4.4 per cent. In January-October
 2014, Bulgaria imported goods amounting to 42.4 billion leva
(at CIF prices), which is an increase by 0.9 per cent compared
to the like period of 2013.

In January-October 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB -
 import CIF) was negative  and amounted to 6,442.5 million leva,
 by 912.8 million leva more compared to the balance in the first
 ten months of 2013. At FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of
transport and insurance costs on imports) the negative balance
added up to 4,588.1 million leva.

In October 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB - import
CIF) was negative and amounted to 697.8 million leva. At FOB/FOB
 prices the negative balance added up to 463.9 million leva.

In January- September 2014, Bulgaria's export to the EU
increased by 2.1 per cent year-on-year and amounted to 19.9
billion leva. This September, the export amounted to 2.4 billion
 leva, down by 2.5 per cent from the same month of 2013.

In the first nine months of this year, the import from EU
countries increased by 2.8 per cent year-on-year to 22.9 billion
 leva (at CIF prices). In September 2014, the import dropped by
1.3 per cent compared the same month of 2013 and reached 2.8
billion leva (at CIF prices)
    
In January-September 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB
 - import CIF) with the EU was negative and amounted to 2,944.1
million leva. At FOB-FOB prices (after elimination of transport
and insurance costs on imports) the negative balance added up to
 2,022.5 million leva.

In January-October 2014, Bulgaria's export to third countries
decreased by 7.1 per cent compared to the like period of 2013
and stood at 13.5 billion leva. In October, the export dropped
by 2.5 per cent year-on-year to 1.5 billion leva.

In the first ten months of this year, the import from third
countries amounted to 16.5 billion leva (at CIF prices), down by
 2.8 per cent from the like period of 2013. Bulgaria's main
trade partners were Russia, Turkey, China and Ukraine. In
October 2014, the import from third countries was worth 1.7
billion leva, which is a decrease by 2.7  per cent compared to
the same month last year.

In January-October 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB -
 import CIF) with
third countries was negative and amounted to 2,992.1 million
leva. At FOB-FOB prices (after elimination of transport and
insurance costs on imports) the negative balance added up to
2,210 million leva.

In October 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB - import
CIF) with third countries was negative and amounted to 191.5
million leva.
