site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,605 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 15.9% 

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,066,413, after 16, 285 tests identified 2,605 new infections on Saturday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 15.9 per cent.    

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 602 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 466 cases and Burgas Region with 317.

The active cases are 247,025. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,399, including 580 in intensive care. Of the 201 hospital admissions, 84.58 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 22,891, with 17 new cases since Friday.

Another 3,072 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 784,390.

Twenty-five fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 34,998.

With 1,568 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,273,530 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,036,897 people are fully vaccinated, and 671,261 have received a booster jab.
