site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 4,845 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 15.8%

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,072,493, after 30,634 tests identified 4,845 new infections on Saturday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 15.8 per cent.    

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 992 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 599 cases and Plovdiv Region with 441.

The active cases are 239,005. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,145, including 549 in intensive care. Of the 797 hospital admissions, 86.07 per cent were not vaccinated.

The infected medical staff have reached 22,992.

Another 10,197 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 798,303.

One hundred and fourty-three fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 35,185.

With 3,870 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,278,226 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,038,507 people are fully vaccinated, and 674,115 have received a booster jab.
