site.btaUPDATED Bulgarian Red Cross Sends Four Truckloads of Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) has sent off four trucks carrying humanitarian aid to the people in Ukraine, the organization said in a press release.
Two trucks carry warm clothing, winter footwear, bedding, blankets and sanitary supplies which are part of donations made by individuals and business in the national charity campaign announced by the BRC.
The other two trucks carry blankets, pillows and bedding for 2,000 people from BRC's disaster reserves, which are made available via EU's Civil Protection Mechanism.
BRC continues to follow the situation in Ukraine with concern and is in constant touch with the Ukrainian Red Cross, the International Red Cross Committee and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. BRC is ready to render more aid to the population of Ukraine and the Ukrainian refugees arriving in Bulgaria.
The BRC aid travels to Ukraine together with more aid provided by Bulgaria.
