site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 515 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 9.5%

A total of 515 new COVID-19 cases were identified by 5,423 tests on Sunday. The test positivity rate stands at close to 9.5 per cent, show data posted on coronavirus.bg.

Over 68 per cent of new cases were reported among either unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated persons. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 1,101,326, which were identified by 9,269,476 tests (test positivity rate of 11.88 per cent).

A total of 21 fatalities were reported Sunday, of which none were vaccinated. The death toll in Bulgaria attributed to the virus now adds up to 35,832. 

The currently active cases are 211,246, of which 3,172 are hospitalized, including 413 in intensive care.

There were 77 new hospital admissions of patients with COVID-19 on Sunday, of whom 82 per cent are not vaccinated. A total of 868 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 854,248.

A total of 350 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday, bringing the total to 4,310,499. A total of 2,048,993 people are fully vaccinated and 694,613 have received a booster dose.
