site.btaGDP per Person Employed Up by 4.3% in Q4 of 2021, Y/Y

According to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute on Tuesday, Bulgaria's real GDP per person employed in the last quarter of 2021 increased by 4.3 per cent compared to a year earlier.

The Bulgarian economy employed 3,348,700 people who worked a total of 1,396.1 million hours. Compared to the same quarter of 2020, the structure of employment by economic sector in the last quarter of 2021 showed a decrease in the share of agriculture and an increase in the shares of services and industry.

GDP per person employed was 11,472.4 leva, and GDP per hour worked was 27.5 leva.

The real average Gross Value Added (GVA) per person employed in the last quarter of 2021 increased by 4.9 per cent year on year. The real GVA per hour worked increased by 3.4 per cent.

The average labour productivity in the industry sector was 10,494.5 leva GVA per person employed and 25.1 leva per man-hour worked. In the services sector the average GVA was 11,091.9 leva per person employed or an average 25.9 leva per hour worked. Labour productivity was lowest in the agriculture sector at 2,140.4 leva GVA per person employed and 5.8 leva per hour worked.
