Bulgaria's e-Government Minister Bozhidar Bozhanov on Tuesday signed a Joint Appeal by the EU Ministers in charge of digital affairs and electronic communications strongly condemning Russia's unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine, Bozhanov's Ministry said in a press release.
The document says that Russia, by its unlawful military actions, grossly violates international law and the principles of the UN Charter and undermines European and global security and stability.
By this Appeal, Bulgaria declares a commitment to the strengthening of the resilience of Ukraine's digital infrastructure and to close monitoring of the situation and the implementation of the sanctions regarding Russian state information sources.
The document calls for cooperation on large online platforms, video streaming platforms, social media, interpersonal communications platforms, intermediation or information service providers and other digital sector entities.
The Joint Appeal was drawn up at an Informal Meeting of European Ministers in charge of digital affairs and electronic communications, held in Paris on March 8, 2022 As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
