By order of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Yordan Bozhilov has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defence, said the press service of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.
Bozhilov has worked for over 20 years in the Ministry of Defence and has gone through various positions and structures in the Ministry: chief expert, head of department, deputy director of the Security and Defence Policy Directorate, director of the International Cooperation Directorate, chief of cabinet of the minister of defence.
Yordan Bozhilov has a master's degree in political science from Moscow State University and a master's degree in law from the University of National and World Economy. He has completed courses and specializations at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the George W. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany and the NATO Defence College in Rome.
Yordan Bozhilov is the founder and first chair of the Sofia Security Forum, which specializes in research and events in the field of security, defence and international relations.
