site.bta Bulgarian-Macedonia Interagency Working Group on Green Transition and Digital Transformation Meets

The second sitting of an interdepartmental working group for European cooperation, green transition and digital transformation and the rule of law between Bulgaria and North Macedonia took place in Sofia on Thursday.

Bulgaria was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Environment Minister Borislav Sandov, Deputy Prime Minister Kalina Konstantinova, E-government minister Bozhidar Bozhanov and Deputy Justice Minister Borislav Ganchev.

On behalf of the Republic of North Macedonia the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for EU Affairs Bojan Marichic, Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Policies Slavica Grkovska, Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini and Information Society and Administration Minister Admirim Aliti.

Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Marichic thanked the Bulgarian side for the good cooperation and said: “Today’s meeting is a proof that at a time of crisis we can work together.”

Participants discussed a number of issues, including better governance, cooperation in the area of cyber security and digital transformation, aligning legislation in order to improve investment climate, countering corruption and e-justice.

Within the framework of the meeting Minister Sandov and Minister Nuredini signed a cooperation programme in the area of environment and waters in the 2022-2023 period,

Also an agreement was signed between Bulgarian Posts and the Post of North Macedonia.

The third meeting of the interdepartamental working group will take place in Skopje in early April.
