Vice President Iliana Iotova met with Lee Sang-hwa, Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Public Diplomacy, on Monday, the presidential press service said. The two discussed deepening cooperation in high technology, tourism, education, culture and sports.

The two expressed a common position on the need to increase the level of bilateral contacts between Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea as a direct path to the implementation of specific projects.

''We can use a lot of the valuable experience of the Republic of Korea in e-services right now, when we are working on building a real working e-government in Bulgaria,'' said Vice President Iotova. She also pointed out the possibilities for cooperation in pharmacy and cosmetics. The production of Bulgarian cosmetics can be combined with advanced Korean technologies, said Lee Sang-hwa.

The two agreed that action was needed to facilitate transport links between the two countries.

In order to get to know the two peoples better, Iliana Iotova suggested organizing bilateral festivals that show the cultures of both countries.
The need for more efforts to maintain stability and peace in the world, as well as respect for human rights, was also highlighted.
